ART CLUB-   

Art club meets every other Thursday from 1:15-2:15. Anyone can join …class code is v6vghdj . Please contact  Mrs. Brown with any questions. 

Bio explorations Club-  

12/8 Making recycled ornaments or animal friendly/feeding ornaments 

  • collecting bottle caps and awaiting the availability of delivery to the company for making them into the ADA picnic table.
  • The old telescope for the observatory has found a new home. Mr. Ambrose is waiting for the new owner to pick it up. Once he does, the new telescope for the observatory will be mounted in its place. Technically, this is not a Bio Explorations Club project but since we are the only ones who really useitwe kind of feel like it is. It was a big push from our old science department chair before he retired, Dave Rahtz and with big help from Matt Ambrose and our superintendent.

 Book Club-

 Book Club and Plainfield Public Library,  are partnering to do a de-stress event.  We will have “Take and Make” kits available to sign up for through the Media Center, and we will be joining the PPLD Teen library services for a virtual de-stress evening event.  

December 3rd Virtually. The link for the PPLD evening event is below, more information on our destress kits will be available prior to Thanksgiving break.

E-Sports club –  

Fall season is still going strong with Rocket League Varsity and JV. The regular season will be ending on November 19 th and playoffs happening in December. -Winter season is also starting up. Super Smash Brothers will start up on November 16th and Valorant is a four-weekend tournament starting in December.  

Rocket League competes every week on Thursday around 5 p.m.  

-Super Smash Brothers Ultimate will be competing on Mondays at 5 p.m. starting Nov. 16. 

 -Valorant is a four-weekend tournament happening in December and January.

French Club- 

French club and French Honor Society, 

We will vote on either Ratatouille for December 3 or Christmas crafts… December 17 we will “destress for the holidays” with French yoga.

Zoom meeting’s Thursday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m.

 Literary Collective Club- 

 The Southwest Prairie literary festival is taking place. Writers can submit their work and get critiqued by a published author, and possibly win prizes. There are a variety of writing categories: poetry, narrative, descriptive sketch, short fiction, critical essay, personal essay, dramatic scene taking place in April, TBD if in-person or virtual.  Join our zoom on 12/17 at 1 p.m.

 Our first competition will be the SPC Math Contest and has been scheduled for Jan. 27. 

Math Team practice is now on Fridays @ 1:30 p.m..  Students should contact Scott Nissley  [email protected] if they are interested in joining. 

Spanish club- 

Anyone who wants to learn more about the Latino culture Spanish club is writing positive letters to the Citizenship students welcoming them to the US and encouraging them to do well on their citizenship test and an upcoming game night.
