“Zootopia 2” is the perfect movie for the whole family. It was a light-hearted and funny film, but the movie also dove deep into important life lessons.
The first “Zooptopia” has always been one of my favorite comfort movies, and I would watch it often. However, the second movie was even better. The movie started with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde learning how to be partners, but they face adversity with the other animals at the police department, who look down on them and do not believe they can be real cops. But when Hopps finds a lead to the next big case, the partners set out to prove everyone wrong.
Even though I really enjoyed the movie, I do think it was very similar to the first. Both movies teach the valuable lesson to always fight for justice and uncover the truth. The plot twists are also very similar to the main villain, again, not being who viewers think it is. So it was a little redundant.
Even though the movies were similar, the second was more exciting to watch. viewers are introduced to some new characters, one being Gary De’Snake, whose goal is to get snakes and reptiles reintegrated into “Zootopia”, while also getting to dive deeper into the original characters. So the character development was much better.
Something I found really interesting was how, throughout the movie, Hopps and Wilde face a lot of issues with their partnership, but they learn how to embrace their differences, ultimately making them powerful partners. They learn to believe in themselves and each other, and have an emotional bonding moment toward the end of the movie that I found so cute.
Overall, the movie was great. The balance between funny moments and deeper, more meaningful moments was perfect. Judy was persistent and stood by her beliefs, which is a very respectable quality. Nick was very loyal; he respected Judy as his partner and fought for her. The other characters were nice additions, too. At the very end of the movie, there was a Robert Irwin cameo, which was the cherry on top. It broke records, having the biggest opening weekend of any animated movie ever. “Zootopia 2” was the perfect movie for all ages. I would give it five out of five stars.
