White lights create perfect holiday feel

White+lights+create+perfect+holiday+feel

Finally, the holiday season, time to bake yummy goods, spend time with family, and of course decorate your house in dazzling white lights and keep those colorful lights tucked away in the corner of the crawlspace.
While every year my little cousins might beg to take out the colored lights, I know that they’ll mature and realize making your house look like an ugly box of radioactive crayons doesn’t capture the holiday feeling.
The white lights brighten up the neighborhood, making the whole street feel like a winter wonderland, especially when paired along with extravagant wreaths, blow up holiday characters, all tied together with a fresh layer of white fluffy snow.
The feeling of standing back and really admiring your house in the fully decorated form makes you feel like a little kid again watching all the classic Christmas movies for the first time, laughing at every joke.
The white lights don’t only make the outside of houses delightful, it also creates a homey feel inside. At night, when all you have on is the lights, it creates a warm ambiance that really encapsulates the holiday feeling. I like to be all cuddled up on the couch with a cozy blanket and steaming cup of hot cocoa, not a care in the world.
If you were to try and enjoy colored lights inside your home, your house would feel more like a rave rather than a comfortable oasis. The blinding purples, reds, and yellows, would strain your eyes and cause a major headache that just ruins the whole night.
The timeless white lights also create a great background for all holiday photos. The colorful lights make photos look outdated and can make lighting hard to capture. While solid white creates a great atmosphere that can be shared throughout decades.
All in all, the decoration portion of the holidays is one of the most enjoyable. Whether you use white or colorful lights, make sure you enjoy this time and cherish the memories you are creating. Just know that you’ll have a significantly more enjoyable time using white lights.
