Chocolate out-votes candy

Many think chocolate is candy, but chocolate is not necessarily candy by definition since it is made of cocoa beans, a natural plant. Whether or not chocolate is considered candy is a personal preference.

Main point is chocolate is better than sour or chewy candy in my opinion because it has much less sugar and tastes just as good. It’s perfect for a snack, dessert, or just a craving. According to nationaldaycalendar.com and Nourish by WebMD, chocolate has many more health benefits. Chocolate boosts focus and energy levels, supports functions of the heart, lowers blood pressure, helps protect cells from inflammation, improves brain function, boosts immune and cardiovascular health, and cocoa is rich in good nutrients.

Chocolate is in general the perfect craving that doesn’t leave the bad feeling about eating too much compared to sugary candy. The creamy, rich taste is better than a sour, sticky treat.

Candy is mainly made up of sugar. While candy has a diverse number of flavors and textures, so does chocolate. There’s Crunch, Kit Kat, Reese’s, M&M’s, Hershey bars, Snickers, Twix, 3 Musketeers, Rolo, Dove bars, Milky Way, Almond Joy, Butterfinger, and the list goes on. I understand not everyone is a chocolate lover, but who doesn’t love to receive a big bar of chocolate, especially the World’s Finest Chocolate; the ones they sell in school.

Anyway, chocolate can be used in a variety of ways such as baking, drinks, garnishes, or in desserts like brownies, cakes, cookies, ice cream and chocolate fountains. You can also have chocolate covered fruits, pretzels, or marshmallows.

Additionally, chocolate doesn’t stick to teeth as much as other candies do, which means fewer cavities.

Don’t get me wrong, I love sour, chewy candy, but chocolate treats are simply better. Chocolate beats any sour or sweet candy 100%.

Besides, receiving a king size bar of chocolate is better than a handful of candies.

Even though both should be eaten in moderation, having more chocolate is not as bad as having a lot of candy.
