Harvesting memories: Celebrate Fall

As the air gets chillier, the leaves change color, and everything pumpkin comes out, fall is in the air.

Summer ends today Sept. 22, and there is a sense of excitement as fall officially begins… The flannel, pie, pumpkin patch, coffee, sweaters, and crisp air are upon us, or it may just be that Christmas is one step closer.

According to verywellmind.com, fall tends to boost people’s motivation. Psychology experts say we can maximize the mental health benefits of the season by spending time in nature, setting goals, and prioritizing favorite activities.

There is often a debate about when fall decorating should begin. Some think August is too early but generally, it shouldn’t matter when someone chooses to decorate a bit earlier since it allows people to enjoy the season a bit longer.

Fall can also be seen as a fresh start with going back to school and preparing for the colder months ahead.

Though there are many who would rather have summer last forever, having that change in season allows us to see the beauty in change. As the trees change into beautiful colors of red, orange, and yellow, simply driving down the roads to see the views or taking a walk and hearing the crunch beneath your feet, allows you to enjoy the fall atmosphere.

Overall, as seasons come and go, each season only comes once a year, and while some may last longer than others, there is a joy in each season to be celebrated.
