Algebra teacher, math team coach, and STEM club sponsor Milan Bhatt has had many different responsibilities in his years here. Bhatt connects with and motivates his students each and every day.
“Mr Bhatt is very reliable and passionate about everything that he does, and that is why we picked him to sponsor the STEM club,” Addison Zitello, junior, said.
Bhatt has enjoyed sponsoring two clubs seeing learning in a different sense, math related or not.
“I really like getting to the point of enriching students to where they understand a concept completely and sponsoring two clubs has really helped push that goal forward. It is really cool to see learning and education happen in different regards,” Bhatt said.
His enthusiasm comes across to his students each and every day.
“Mr. Bhatt is a great math coach and his beautiful smile, it just makes my day,” Craven Andaya, senior, said.
Many students find Bhatt to have a very analytical and engaging way of teaching that helps students learn in many different ways.
“I admire how thorough he is at explaining topics and how he involves his students,” Brady Husack, sophomore, said.
“He is good at keeping the mood light even in stressful situations with his sense of humor,” Zitello said.
Bhatt cares a lot about his students and has made many memories with them. He enjoys watching them learn and grow in their education.
“One of the most amazing things is when a student starts to really understand something and you can see it; that’s when you see learning is directly happening,” Bhatt said.
Other teachers also recognize Bhatt and his teaching style.
“Mr. Bhatt is a very relaxed person who does not let anything really get to him, and connects very well with his students,” Jenna Kruz, math and science chair, said.
In his free time Bhatt enjoys playing basketball “a lot more than I should,” Bhatt said. Aside from that he also enjoys going hiking and his favorite food is fettuccine alfredo. He was on the track team for two weeks in high school but soon realized that was not for him. He was a member of the ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.) for four years.
Other than math or economics, he says physics is as far as he would go with teaching as he feels in those classes he would get to teach and demonstrate more real world problems.
He has enjoyed his years at this school and enjoys its suburban location.
“Growing up in the city it is very different than it is here. One of the biggest aspects I noticed right from the get go when I started working here was it is very homey, everyone is so friendly and inclusive,” Bhatt said.
Overall, Bhatt is going to miss his students and has enjoyed the memories he has made here. The school wishes him well in his next chapter.
